Different causes of the common cold and viruses

The common cold and virus season lasts from fall to spring in the northern hemisphere, giving us a long window of time to catch the dreaded cold.

So what causes us to get sick?

Exposure to illness
Increase stress which reduces immune system
Poor diet: remember sugar impairs the immune system!
Environmental concerns with blowing dust and mold which will reduce immune system

What to do when you have a common cold or Virus?

Increase fluids like bone broth or high quality chicken & vegetable stock
Drink herbal teas like Peppermint, Echinacea, Chamomile, Ginger or Elderberry
Minimize sugar intake - even fruit sugar!
Try taking tepid bath to reduce fevers
