Winter Wellness Supplement Support

With shorter days, less sun, and less reasons to get outside, staying healthy in the winter months can be a challenge. I have hand picked my favorite winter wellness supplements, along with a few tips to keep you and your family healthy and happy through the winter months. 

Tips for staying healthy in the winter

1. Get plenty of sleepStudies show that sleep is when the body heals and repairs itself, including on a cellular level. This makes getting quality sleep imperative for improving cellular health and your energy levels. 

2. Quality Nutrition - Increasing your intake of natural whole foods, while decreasing your intake of inflammatory foods is important for maintaining your overall health. Check out my YouTube series on nutrition for a good quality of life. 

3. Stay active - Staying active in the winter time can be a real challenge, but if you don't stay active your immune system will be more prone to stress. Try at home exercises like yoga or Tai Chi, or even find a buddy to hit the gym with!
 

Supplements for Winter Wellness

In addition to my tips above, here are some of my favorite supplements to help you beat the cold and stay healthy this season. 

NAC - Thorne

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is an amino acid that promotes immune function,supports liver detoxification, and protects the body from toxic insults.

 
Zen - Allergy Research Group

Zen contains L-theanine and GABA, L-theanine is found in green tea and supports productions of alpha-wave activity in the brain.  Zen offers a unique and natural path to calmness, day or night.  This allows for less stress. Saccharomyces Boulardii + MOS - Jarrow Formulas

Saccharomyces Boulardii  is a probiotic yeast that helps with gut health. Gut health is the key to long term immune health. Saccharomyces Boulardii can be taken while on antibiotics, unlike regular probiotics.
