Different causes of the common cold and viruses

The common cold and virus season lasts from fall to spring in the northern hemisphere, giving us a long window of time to catch the dreaded cold.

So what causes us to get sick?

  • Exposure to illness
  • Increase stress which reduces immune system
  • Poor diet: remember sugar impairs the immune system!
  • Environmental concerns with blowing dust and mold which will reduce immune system

What to do when you have a common cold or Virus?

  • Increase fluids like bone broth or high quality chicken & vegetable stock
  • Drink herbal teas like Peppermint, Echinacea, Chamomile, Ginger or Elderberry
  • Minimize sugar intake -  even fruit sugar!
  • Try taking tepid bath to reduce fevers

Along with these remedies, I have a few supplements below that I recommend. Note that Vitamin D3 and Coryza Forte are must haves - the rest are dependent on the symptoms that you have.

Coryza Forte - Progressive labs

Coryza Forte is a formula that is created to treat upper respiratory infections. By promoting the drainage of congested tissue, supporting the immune system, and stimulating the body's defense mechanisms.

This supplement is a must have for the common cold and viruses.

NOTE: Coryza Forte does contain bee pollen - do not take if you are allergic to bees.

Vitamin D3 5000 - biospec nutritionals

This high quality Vitamin D is a must have for immune support. Research shows that Vitamin D can decrease the chance of getting a cold, as well as reduce the duration of common colds. Taking this once a day is a great step towards a healthy life!
